Easy Song Book I

Arranged by Derrick Deutsch, "The Easy Song Book I" is designed to introduce the young player to songs as quickly as possible to make it fun and interesting to play and practice. The book contains solos, duets, and trios. It can be used by clarinets, flutes, violins or any treble clef instrument. It is basically the same book as the trumpet method book, with minor modifications (some of the trumpet specific exercises have been removed), but the songs are identical.

The songs are placed in order of expanding range with each succeeding song. The songs range from G below the staff to G above the staff. Different versions of the same song are included to introduce more complex or difficult concepts (e.g., rhythm, range).

The songs should also be used to introduce phrasing, dynamics, articulation, breath control, and sight reading. This book can be used as a stand-alone method book, or used primarily as a song book.
